ITV sign major deal with Eagle Eye Solutions
Jan 23rd 2007 - Today ITV announced a major deal to launch promotional mobile coupons with Eagle Eye Solutions.
ITV is the first broadcaster to exclusively launch a brand new interactive service that allows advertisers and retailers to send mobile coupons to its viewers which can then be redeemed at High Street retail outlets.
The service and technology, created by mobile specialist Eagle Eye Solutions, is the first of its type to be launched by a broadcaster and offers both brands and retailers the ability to link their advertising spend directly to sales generated, via the sales data provided by the coupon system.
ITV fully expect that the signing of this partnership will revolutionise the way that brands and retailers advertise and interact with their customers through traditional ITV routes and are currently looking for retail partners to join the service.
The mobile solution and EPOS software development has all been created by Eagle Eye Solutions, a leading mobile marketing and software development house. Julian Reiter, Managing Director of Eagle Eye Solutions says “Using existing hardware and the established credit card transaction networks, our mobile coupon redemption solution is designed to be quickly and easily integrated into a retailer’s existing POS system. As a result, virtually any retailer, whether multilane grocer or independent high street store can adopt this system with little to no significant development time or costs.”
Peter Manten, Head of Interactive Sales at ITV says “This is a fantastic opportunity for advertisers and retailers alike to open a direct dialogue with their customers in a simple, manageable and cost-effective way. The initiative will provide advertisers with instant ROI data, retailers with footfall instore and customers with instantly redeemable offers. Eagle Eye Solutions have provided us with a unique software platform that makes this possible in a very easy to implement and cost effective way.”
Julian Reiter, Eagle Eye Solutions Managing Director adds “Where a till or chip and pin machine is normally used to take a credit card or debit card payment, we have created a platform that allows a till operator to redirect the till at the press of a button from the banks to our databases, allowing the till to redeem the coupon in real time.”
What’s exciting is that by doing this we can link a mobile coupon to the purchase of a basket of goods, a link save or BOGOF, or a simple one off purchase. Whilst the system is POS manufacturer independent, our partnerships with some of the world’s largest EPOS manufacturers and system integrators allows us to provide a high quality, minimal impact integration with little or no additional hardware, for almost 70% of the UK’s Top High Street retailers.”
